Transportation comes tomorrow morning at 9 am! Finally, Mike will be in Kansas for the first time in almost 6 months! (Seems like it's been longer!) Can't wait to have him sooooo close to home. I'll let ya know how the trip goes! LUV YA!

Not a whole lot happening here. I ran back to Salina on Sat. and just got back this evening. Mike seems to be recovering pretty well. He's not eating real well and not wanting to drink much so they do have him on an IV to get some fluids into him and his blood pressure has been a little bit of an issue but overall he's looking pretty good! Hopefully tomorrow we will have more news on when we will be outta here! I'll let ya know!

YES....surgery was today! Everything went fine and he will be in ICU for the night to make sure. He was awake this evening and being his feisty self (back to wanting to get out!). I'm not sure how long they will want him to stay but I don't think it will be more than a couple of days. I'll let ya know after I see the doc in the morning!

OK....I was told this afternoon that so far all preliminary tests are clear....we are on the surgery schedule tentatively for noon on Wednesday (tomorrow!). Hopefully we are back on track and all will be smooth sailing from here! (probably wishful thinking but wouldn't it be great if it is!) I'll let everyone know how things go tomorrow. Still no word on when surgery will take place....maybe this afternoon we'll know something. They have been having Mike sit up in a REAL chair and he is doing very well. I went and met the kids in Kansas City yesterday for my birthday, so I didn't get to see him yesterday but I did talk with him on the phone! His attention span is really short so it was a very short conversation but he seems to be doing so much better here. I'll let everyone know what transpires today.

Despite all the waiting, Mike is in pretty good spirits. He seems to really like the nursing and therapy staff here and it is amazing the change in his mood. He actually tries to joke around with them! He still wants to leave but doesn't get mad when we tell him we have to wait. No news yet on surgery (what a surprise....NOT).

Nothing new to really post. We have to wait for the antibiotics to run their course which I have been told will be about 5 days (so Sunday). After that they will redo the blood work and make sure that the infection has cleared up and then I have been told that they should be able to do the surgery the next day. We'll see!!! As usual with Mike, nothing is ever that simple! I'll keep posting. HATE THE WAITING!!!!!
